– Sex Museum cumple 40 años con «The Long Slow Way».

Issue 54 of Rock Bottom Magazine is now available as a free download.

This month’s cover goes to Óscar Avendaño & Reposado. The former Siniestro Total bassist and soul of The Bo Derek’s puts the white dress aside for a while to tell us about «El Huevo de la Serpiente», an album that draws on folk, psychedelia and blues, with a few Pink Floyd touches here and there. The chat goes from Bergman to Nuremberg, from baritone guitars to Ronnie Lane, and ends up being what we like best: a conversation at the bar.

And there’s much more:

– Sex Museum turn 40 with «The Long Slow Way». Fernando Pardo explains why slowness isn’t a failure, but «maturity, resilience and pure rootedness».
– Steve Wynn, the soul of The Dream Syndicate, looks back on his memoir «No lo diría si no fuese cierto»: the success, the excesses and the self-sabotage.
– Los Romeos are back 35 years later… and fighting to get their own name back.
– Paxareto: Asturian psychedelic folk-pop sung in Spanish, somewhere between The Byrds and Moby Grape.
– Monkey Week SON Estrella Galicia: Tali Carreto gives us a preview of an edition with more than 120 artists in El Puerto de Santa María.
– Howlin’ Jaws travel from Paris to Stockholm to record «Living The Dream», their most ambitious album.
– Depedro tells us all about «Furia y Calma».
– Molly Ruth: outlaw country and «cosmic gospel» from Nashville.
– Mike Scott, the restless spirit behind The Waterboys.
– Pokey LaFarge and his new «Rent Money».
– Claudio Corazón, in our «Por amor al arte» section.

Rounding out the issue are our regular sections: songs that made film history («Aquella escena… aquella canción»), Dale Cooper and «Twin Peaks», «M, el vampiro de Düsseldorf», the Northern Soul of The Catacombs, the darkest side of country, Hammer, historic bootlegs, our report on Europe marking 40 years of «The Final Countdown», and a good handful of album, book and film reviews.
