1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information about your visit. There are similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage or scripts that send data to other servers; in this policy we call all of them «cookies».
Some are necessary for the website to work and do not need your permission. We only use the rest if you give us your consent in the cookie notice.
2. Who sets them
First-party cookies are set by this website, run by Asociación Cultural Rock Bottom Magazine. Third-party cookies are set by other services whose content or tools we use.
3. Which cookies we use
3.1. Necessary (always on)
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| rb_consent | Rock Bottom (first-party) | Remember which cookies you have accepted or rejected. | 12 months |
| wpEmojiSettingsSupports (browser storage) | Rock Bottom (first-party) | Check whether your browser displays emojis correctly. | Until you close the tab |
| wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-* | Rock Bottom (first-party) | Only for website administrators: log in to the dashboard and remember their preferences. | Session or up to 1 year |
| _GRECAPTCHA | Google (third-party) | Only on the contact page: protect the form against spam (Google reCAPTCHA). | 6 months |
3.2. Analytics (only if you accept them)
| Service | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jetpack Stats (stats.wp.com, pixel.wp.com) | Automattic Inc. (United States) | Count visits and see which content is read the most. In our tests it does not set cookies in your browser, but it sends Automattic data about your visit (page, browser and IP), so it only runs if you accept it. | Not applicable |
3.3. Third-party content (only if you accept it)
Until you accept this category, instead of this content you will see a notice with a button to load it and a link to open it directly on the service’s website.
| Service | Set by | Cookies we have detected and their purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube (videos) | YSC, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA, __Secure-YNID, __Secure-ROLLOUT_TOKEN and others: play the video, remember your preferences, measure usage and show advertising. It also loads DoubleClick (Google) advertising cookies. | From session up to 180 days | |
| iVoox (podcasts) | iVoox and Triton Digital | visitAttr, purchaseAttr, attributionCookie, IE-set_country, IE-LANG_CODE, IVOOX_*: play the audio, remember your language and country, measure listens and show advertising. It also loads Google Analytics and DoubleClick (Google). | Set by each service |
| SoundCloud (audio) | SoundCloud | Play the audio and measure listens. In our tests it did not set cookies, but it connects to SoundCloud’s servers. | Set by SoundCloud |
| Yumpu (viewer for older issues) | Yumpu, Advertserve and Google | ypsession and yumpu_slc: make the viewer work. AVPUID: identify your browser to show advertising. It also loads Google advertising. | From session up to 365 days |
| FlipHTML5 (viewer for recent issues) | FlipHTML5 and Google | Make the viewer work and measure its use with Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. | Set by each service |
| Ko-fi (support button) | Ko-fi | Show the button or panel to support the magazine. | Set by Ko-fi |
These services decide on their own which cookies they set and may change them without telling us. For more detail, see their policies, for example Google’s (YouTube) or SoundCloud’s. Those of iVoox, Yumpu, FlipHTML5 and Ko-fi are on their websites.
4. How to accept, reject or change your choice
The first time you visit the website we show you a notice with three buttons of the same size: «Accept all», «Reject all» and «Settings». Until you choose, only the necessary cookies work.
You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time from the «Configurar cookies» (cookie settings) link at the bottom of every page or with the button at the top of this page. Withdrawing it is as easy as giving it.
We remember your choice for 12 months. After that, or if we change this policy, we will ask you again.
5. How to delete cookies from your browser
You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings. They are usually in the Settings or Preferences menu, under Privacy (this is how it works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge). Note that if you delete the rb_consent cookie, we will show you the cookie notice again.
